Stranger Things Season 5: The Ultimate Prep Guide (Because We’re All About to Lose It)

We’ve waited, we’ve theorized, we’ve rewatched unnecessary YouTube essays,  and now Stranger Things Season 5 is finally on the horizon. And let’s be honest: none of us is emotionally stable enough for this.

So here’s your official, not-official, but definitely necessary prep guide for surviving the final season.

📺 1. The Mandatory Rewatch Marathon

We all like to pretend we remember everything from the last four seasons.
We do not.

Before Season 5 drops, do yourself a favour and revisit:

  • The whole of Season 4 (for the emotional injuries)Any moment where Steve Harrington breathes (for obvious reasons)
  • Every scene with Max because… yeah, we’re still distressed

Lazy? Here’s the shortcut:

  • S1E1
  • S2E7 (JK skip this one)
  • S3 Finale

S4 Finale (then cry)

🍿 2. Build Your Binge-Watching Starter Pack

To watch Stranger Things correctly, you must look like a well-fed, emotionally fragile ’80s kid.

Essentials:

  • Eggo waffles (or any frozen waffle, we’re not picky)
  • A neon light that makes your room look mildly cursed
  • A blanket you can hide under when Vecna appears
  • Snacks stacked like you’re preparing for the apocalypse

For Karachi people: add biryani. Eleven would approve.

🎶 3. Your Official Season 5 Hype Playlist

A playlist that screams “save me, but also I’m vibing.”

Minimum requirements:

  • “Running Up That Hill” (contractually required)
  • “Should I Stay or Should I Go”
  • Something synth-y and dramatic

At least one Pakistani song that accidentally fits the Upside Down energy
(May I suggest Garaj Baras? Very Vecna-coded.)

4. Mental Preparation for Whatever Netflix Is Planning

Let’s be real, someone is getting yeeted into the Upside Down.
Will it be Steve? Will it be Dustin? Will they hurt us again? (Yes.)

Grab:

  • Tissues
  • Comfort snacks
  • A friend you can yell “WHAT IS HAPPENING?!” to

A cushion to scream in during jump scares

🔮 5. Predictions Nobody Asked For (but we're making them anyway)

  • Byler (yep, we ship Mike Wheeler and Will Byers): either becomes an endgame, or we get another 15-second heartbreak scene.
  • Will: definitely crying.
  • El: new haircut, new trauma.
  • Hopper: somehow survives everything, including emotional scenes.
  • Vecna: returns with even worse vibes.

Bonus prediction: Netflix will end on a cliffhanger even though it’s the final season. Because why not?

🛍️ 6. Watch Party, But Make It Hawkins

If you’re extra (which you should be):

  • Hang Christmas lights like the Byers’ house
  • Print out the missing posters of Will
  • Put a Demogorgon cut-out near your entrance for vibes
  • Play 80s music before the show starts
  • Serve waffles, fries, and Coke like it’s an ’80s diner

If you want a Karachi version:

  • Fairy lights
  • Chai
  • Retro music

A fan that sounds like the Upside Down portal opening

🎥 7. Don’t Want to Host? Don’t Worry!

If turning your house into the Upside Down feels like too much admin, Karachi has you covered. Just grab your friends, scream together in public, and let someone else handle the setup. Here are the spots throwing Stranger Things watch parties:

  • Florentine Café (Phase 6, DHA) — organized by @chaosandcopk
  • HabittCity, Karachi
  • House of Bougainvillea (Phase 8, DHA)
  • Neutral Karachi x Kulture Karachi

Tickets? All on TicketWala, obviously. Claim your spot before Vecna does.

💔 8. Final Step: Accept That None of Us Are Ready

You can rewatch, snack, theorize, cosplay, manifest, scream, but when Season 5 hits?

We will all be emotionally destroyed together.

And honestly?
We can’t wait.
