Tucked away in the vibrant Pakistan Chowk, the Sarnagati Building stands as a testament to Karachi’s complex and fascinating past. This stunning red sandstone structure, erected in the early 1930s, has witnessed the city’s transformation and harbors secrets of its own.
Initially envisioned as a seven-story marvel, its construction was abruptly halted due to the unavailability of red stone from Jaipur post-1947, leaving only three stories to tell its tale. Despite this, the building has played host to various prominent occupants, including ministers’ offices during Karachi’s tenure as the capital.
